Windpark Westfrisia has reached Financial Close. BLIX was responsible for the tendering and contract negotiations of the wind turbines, the civil and electrical works and the grid connection. Windpark Westfrisia has awarded BLIX with the construction management scope as well, which means a continuation of the works. BLIX can apply their knowledge and experience in the next phase of realising the wind farm. The onshore wind farm will consist of 5 wind turbines that will be constructed along de Westfrisiaweg (N302) near Zwaagbijk which is part of Municipality Medemblik.

Wind industry knowledge with proven track record

Jan Pronk of Windpark Westfrisia: “BLIX has tightly managed the tender en construction phase. They know all the windturbine suppliers and the civil/electrical contractors and have set up the contracts accordingly. It is just the next logical step to contract BLIX to take care of the construction management and site supervision. I’m confident they will do a good job as BLIX has a good understanding and a good track record in this phase of wind projects”.

Mark Duppen, Manager Onshore Wind at BLIX: “We are very proud to have been part of the contracting team of Westfrisia and reach Financial Close with them. We are happy to have received the assignment to manage the construction phase as well, we are confident that Enercon and Volkerwind will be successful delivering this project.”

In September 2017 the wind farm received an environmental permit. The wind farm will generate 12 MW, which will contribute to reach the renewable energy goals for North Holland in 2020. First works has already started and mid 2019 the wind farm is expected to be operational.

Enercon and VolkerWind will construct the wind farm. Enercon supplies and constructs the five wind turbines. VolkerWind is responsible for realising the access roads and the undergournd cabling of the new turbines to the new to be placed future substation.
